It’s no secret that the Arabian/Half Arabian Halter horse is under speculation from many on their ability to mentally and physically handle the performance/family side of life. I see it especially in the more accomplished horses. People jumping at the chance to make assumptions. I know this because I was once influenced by the negative comments on halter horses. But I had a curve ball thrown at me when I was given the opportunity to work closely with National winning halter horses and watched them transform into BEAUTIFUL athletes. The TRUE epitome of an Arabian. One story that especially touched my heart was that of MULTI National and Scottsdale Champion RO Atlantis+//. One of the most accomplished Half Arabian Halter geldings in the industry. I call this horse a dream maker. We purchased him for a young lady with the hopes of him being a good match for her in the show ring. And he was. He delivered as usual as the pair won TWO sets of garlands the first time they ever entered a show ring together.

 

But it was what happened outside the show ring that made us appreciate him even more. He is a best friend to Kaila. He has a sensitivity to her and takes care of her and she takes care of him. She enjoys riding him bareback, making him special treats for him to try, teaching him tricks and just bonding with him. He adores her and that is PRICELESS. He now Atlantis spends his days being the friend of Kaila Loera, they grow together and enjoy eachother’s company…

Atlantis is also a VERY stylish Half Arabian Hunter and together, he and Kaila are working hard for next show season to show the world that you can have it both…halter and performance…heck, you can even have a best friend!
